Mountain Ski Resort VRATNA VALLEY*****
In the National Park Mala Fatra about 28 km from the town Žilina and 2km from the village Terchova there is situated one of the most beatiful valley of Slovakia – Vratna Valley – which belongs to the most frequented ski resorts. Both beginners and intensive skiers can find outstanding conditions for skiing here. There is a chair lift a cabine lift, 10 ski tows and 12,6 km downhill trails in this resort.Downhill trails Paseky, Prislop and Cizinka can be covered with technical snow, too. In the ski centre there is possibility of ski hire and ski school for adults and children. There is also a snowboard park with special tracks.

Characteristic of the ski slopes in and around the Vratna valley
Paseky
Ski runs of intermediate difficulty, facing NW. It is a popular and much-frequented ski slope thanks to the modern 4-seat Doppelmayr lift with a departure belt. The slope is regularly maintained and technicaly snowed. It also offers evening skiing under electric light.
Grun - Poludnovy Grun
There are easy ski runs near the challet at Grun. Their exposure varies and they are suitable for beginners. NW from Poludnovy Grun a grassy upland slope of intermediate difficulty descends towards the hut. The pistes run over idealy smooth meadows.
Prislop
Intermediate ski runs around the ski tow. Technically snowed slope. In addition to the slope by the ski tow, there is a choice of runs of each standard nearby.
Pod Sokolim
Tizinka - An area from the road to the Pod Sokolim hut and left as far as a distinctive furrow in the landscape by some huts. Easy skiing with SE exposure suitable for beginners, with technical snow.
Snilovske sedlo (1 524 m)
The areas around the top of the chairlift and Snilovske sedlo are suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. Considering the weather, it is usually used in the spring months.
The north slopes of Chleb and Velky Krivan
Intermediate pistes with N and NE exposure. Suitable for all categories of skiers.
